Jackie Chan plays the person you are in, but nobody calls him. They call him “Chinese man” as it is in “this bloody chinese man”. “I bet the original name of this movie was The Chinaman”. Of course, it was based on a 1992 roman (Stephen Leather). That was a lot of titles. I can not imagine why you did not survive the adaptation process.
Anyway, it’s good to see Chan at the age of 63, the first big-screen image on the big screen after The Karate Kid redesigned it seven years ago. This is a serious-thinking cat mouse thriller, not a chopsocky romp, and Chan plays a guy who wants justice for his murdered daughter, not a comedy figure paired with a loyal partner who does not understand him.
